Our design process begins with engaging in conversation to listen, understand and ask questions about your dream. The vision for your project is distilled via meaningful dialogue where we identify both practical and aesthetic desires to shape your routine, lifestyle and connection. By observing, documenting and assessing the opportunities and constraints of the site, we are able to mold the vision we have distilled into form and meaning. Applying a framework of asking why a decision is made, we resolve our approach to the vision within the context of the site clearly and pragmatically.

Concept Design
At the heart of every design is a story that underpins the process of crafting the design language and response. We use various reference images, sketches and diagrams to craft the vision and ethos of the design which are pragmatically tailored to your unique vision.

Design Development
We continue to refine each aspect of the design, considering materiality, and technical requirements further shaping an evolved design ensuring confidence in the practical outcome. Secondary specialist consultants are engaged to coordinate engineering, services and landscape aspects of the vision, ensuring a refined and layered set of drawings. The outcome is visually developed through visualizations used to communicate the developed design outcome. Combined, we are able to obtain preliminary estimates from preferred contractors, ensuring we are on track with the build value.
A furniture and styling schedule can also be opted for that dives into lavishly curating a cohesive fit-out.

Documentation and Tender
Our pursuit of high quality built outcomes is driven by our passion for delivering quality technical documentation. A thorough set of drawings are produced to clearly communicate preferred construction methods and aesthetic details that make a project truly unique. During this process we are able to navigate construction hurdles by problem solving ahead of ground being broken, commonly employing first principles thinking.
Subject to the nominated contractors, Ponder will manage the tender process ensuring all contractors receive the relevant documentation and schedules to produce tenders. We then assist our clients by providing advice and support to ensure the price, timeframe and allocation of costs for the proposed design meets the expectations of all involved.

Construction Administration
To ensure a seamless construction process, we engage with the contractor as a representative of our clients. Prior to construction commencing we organize on site to walk through any contractor queries and provide regular monthly site inspections, answering any requests for information (RFI’s) ensuring the design intent is carried through.
